I don't think adults hate sour things, I think this is biased. I think what you may be asking is why do adults typically not like sour candy... perhaps because kids love sweets and enjoy cringing at the sour taste of Sour Patch kids. Adults may not like this feeling and would rather eat a sweet treat that doesn't make their mouths tingle for fun.
