Also, it is a social thing and if they were mean to a child they would be very regretful.

They want to keep the kids happy which is indicated by innocent smiles .Adults also try to make kids laugh because they want to enjoy the Kids laughing. One of the most beautiful thing in the world is the Laugh of a child like blossoming of flower.
