because the software company wants you to upgrade to " THE NEWEST BRAND " for more money. if you ask me, just get norton's internet safe software. it shows by a green, red, or gray checkmark if the site has any viruses on it. ( including downloadable software ) i hate it when antivirus does that too. just dont spazz out and waste your money
