Acually bats do fly. They are the only mammals that can "fly", because things like sugargliders and gliding squirrels cannot create thrust by flapping their wings because technically they don't have any. Bats can gain altitude without wind by flapping. If you look at a bat's wing you will find it both resembles a human hand and a bird wing.
They have just adapted wings, that's all. Anyway, name an animal that has FUR or HAIR that is not a mammal. Its difficult, isn't it?
Another answer:
Whether or not something can fly doesn't determine what class of animal it belongs to.
Mammals are warmblooded, have backbones, have hair on some part of their bodies, give birth to live young and they suckle their young (that is, their babies drink milk from their mothers).
Since bats have hair (fur), give birth to live young and suckle their young they are mammals.
Most bats use echolocation which is the ability to produce a sound and process the returning echo to gain information about the environment.
There flattened like wings make good gliding tools for the bats.<3
Bats are mammals because they give birth to their children live, and feed their babies with milk like mammals do. Birds are hatched from eggs, and do not feed their babies milk.
It is the shape of their body which is stubby and aerodynamic with the chest being broader than the tail. The "row" their wings to create lift.
Bats fly quickly to catch insects while they are flying.
They use their wings>
Bat is the mammal that can only fly.
No it is not but as bold as a bat is
it has wings
A fly ball that advances a runner from second to third is not counted as a sacrifice fly, and it does count as an at bat. Unless a runner scores on a fly ball, the batter is charged with an at bat.
echolocation, ability to fly, nocturnal, etc
A bat fly is any of the family Nycteribiidae of flattened, spider-like parasitic flies, which do not have eyes or wings.

Vampires are a type of bat; although they have no feathers, they do fly.
no, it is basically the same is a walk, except if you are keeping statistics the abbreviation for a hit by pitch is HBP and is not filed under walks.
