if they are attached to your bottom jaw, then its because they are moving your whole jaw back so it cant go as far as it could before, or because the back of the braces is anchored to your teeth.
Yes. That is what braces are for. It takes a while, but they do move.
Not exactly. They align your top teeth and bottom teeth to make a (hopefully) perfect bite and a perfect smile. Re-aligning your jaw would require major surgery.
Yes a bit, your jaw will start to ache a bit after you get you braces, and you might not be able to eat hard foods for a few days but it will get better after about a week..x
The herbst appliance is used to move your bottom jaw forward and your top jaw back. I just got mine a few days ago and it HURTS! Like its the most painful thing and you can have a herbst appliance on while having braces on too! I got braces on and my herbst on at about the same time. With a herbst, you have these like two pieces of metal that go around the tops of your teeth and they stick into your gums and hurt. They hurt because the dentist has to stick the metal part into your gum and cement the metal onto your teeth. Then you have a metal bar that goes across your cheek and connects to the lower part of your teeth with the metal part around it. And that is pretty much what the herbst appliance is and what it does to your mouth. Hope this helps! :)
It depends on how severe your overbite is! If is simple then they will just put braces on your teeth and can take any where from 1year or more. If your overbite is to severe then they may have to move your jaw that is a different surgery altogether...Of course you will tell them that you have a weak jaw and may give you other options.. go see a oral surgeon for your jaw and a orthodontist for your teeth. call first and ask to have a free consultations for braces. a little bit.
It depends on how far you need your jaw pulled forward
if you have an overbite
Yes! They sure can they move your teeth and jaw and all of that unnaturally the jaw can cause serious dizziness I have had my braces for two years and had to take lorazapam the dizziness was so bad message your jaw and look into chiropractic good luck!
Incisors are located on both the top and bottom jaw.
Your teeth feel incredibly smooth, and, at least in the day of metal braces, your jaw feels lighter.
You mean you have a overbite? Braces can't do that. Surgery can though. Contact you doctor. First they have to see how big the problem is.
