Even though the planet Earth is very large in comparison to the people who live on it, it is very small in comparison to outer space. It is effectively a small target for comets to hit. And even though the gravitational attraction of the Earth does tend to pull objects such as comets toward it, in most cases the comet (or other object) will still miss, and will then fly past the Earth.
While the Earth is big compared to us, in actuality it is incredibly small compared to the vast distances between bodies in the cosmos. In such an incredibly large space, it is highly improbable that an object would collide with such a tiny target. If you blindly threw a pebble on a beach, what are the chances it would hit a very particular grain of sand? Not very likely!
Every day we get hit by tons and tons of meteorites. Most are smaller than a pebble. Larger meteorites are very rare. Luckily the planet Jupiter because of its size keeps a lot of otherwise major problems from reaching our planet. A good example is the comets that hit Jupiter a few years back
It is possible for comets and asteroids to hit Earth, but they are extremely rare events.
Asteroids will hit earth every now and then because of the earths gravitational pull, but we don't get as much as Jupiter seeing as it has the highest gravitation pull.
The evidence that asteroids have collided with earth before, depends on the surface. The way you can find this if there is unusual shapes in the ground( e.g. really deep ditch, that is too big for a human too dig).
because of earths gravitational pull. why, did you thinkthey hit earth because of cabbages?
Well they do not die, they get destroyed when they hit earth......
i dont think so
Another word for that is metor and yes they do hit earth, sometimes people see them and sometimes people dont see them.

Asteroids have hit the Earth that have brought about the extinction of nearly every animal and many of the plants on earth.
No. Asteroids can hit anywhere on earth.
Yes, Earth has been hit by many asteroids which were sent or pulled out of the various zones they normally exist within.
make big holes in the earth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gravity.
An asteroid would hit earth first
