Complex organisms cannot perform different functions because of the specialization of their organs and systems. They are designed to carry out very specific tasks and if those tasks are not met the organism cannot function optimally. For example a human has specialized organs for digesting food for respiration for excretion etc. If those organs are not working correctly the rest of the body will be unable to perform the necessary functions. Additionally complex organisms have very intricate systems of communication between cells tissues and organs. Without these communication systems the organism would be unable to properly coordinate its activities.

Why are complex organisms made up of specialized cells?

Complex organisms need cells that perform many different functions. Complex organisms are capable of a lot of different things, and that variety needs to be supported on the cellular level. Without them, complex organisms cannot perform different functions.

What does it mean to be a unicellular organism and how does its structure and function differ from multicellular organisms?

Being a unicellular organism means that the entire organism is made up of just one cell. This single cell is responsible for carrying out all the functions necessary for the organism's survival. In contrast, multicellular organisms are made up of multiple cells that are specialized to perform specific functions. This specialization allows multicellular organisms to have more complex structures and perform a wider range of functions compared to unicellular organisms.

What advantages does a complex organism have?

A complex organism can adapt to its enviroment like humans or they can change their enviorment. They also have complex organs and organ systems which allow them to carry out functions some other organisms cant such as eukaryotic cells to prokariotic cells one is more advanced than the other and can carry out more functions.

How are complex organisms organized?

Usually, complex organisms consist of many organ systems, which comprise from two or more organs, which is from two or more tissues, which comes from two or more cells working for the common function.

What is the definition of a protein complex?

A protein complex is a group of multiple proteins that are bound together and work together to perform specific functions within a cell.

Do more complex organisms need more energy than simpler organisms?

Yes, generally more complex organisms require more energy to support their increased metabolic demands. This is because complex organisms have more specialized cells and tissues, perform more complex functions, and require larger and more efficient organ systems to sustain their body functions.

Why do complex organisms have more than one kind of tissue?

Complex organisms have more than one kind of tissue because different tissues have specialized functions. By having a variety of tissues, organisms can perform a wide range of functions necessary for survival, such as support, protection, movement, and communication. Specialized tissues also allow for efficient coordination and regulation of the organism's activities.

What is complex organism?

A complex organism is a living organism that is composed of distinct cells working together to perform various functions. These organisms can exhibit specialized structures and organ systems, allowing them to carry out more sophisticated activities compared to simpler organisms. Examples include humans, animals, and plants.
