Not all domestic dogs have floppy ears that go down. Many domestic dogs including retreivers (Golden, labrador, duck-tolling and flat-coated retreivers) and some species of wiener dog (also called a dashund) have long floppy ears. But some other domestic dogs including huskies and german sheperds have ears that are pointed and go right up like a cat's.

∙ 14y agoSome dogs have droopy ears because of the kind of breed they are. Breeds such as Labradors and Bloodhounds have droopy ears because they are hunting dogs. The droopy ears funnel the scents towards the dog's nose. If you have a puppy of a breed that is supposed to have stiff ears, give it time, the ears will stiffen up in a little while.

German Shepherd's are born with naturally floppy ears as their cartilage in their ears has not yet developed enough to support them. it's a possible only as a theory. My opion is no, if a German Shepperd got bitten on the ear then maybe THAT ear could be floppy but not the other ear. No dog would have floppy ears because it's scared.
