Why do dragonflies follow you?

I presume you mean, why do 'I' see dragonflies everywhere 'I' look. Well, to the best of my knowledge, in the Esoteric tradition, Dragonflies don't ring any bells. In honesty, your probably just in an area highly populated by Dragonflies,or your attracting them for some reason, scent perhaps? Remember that you have 'programmed' your mind to look out for them, so you probably 'see' them more then others would in the exact same place. Not all naturally occurring phenomenon are to be interpreted as omens. Often when one something appears in our lives we become sensitised to addition sightings of the same kind. As an example I rarely noticed the make, model and colour of car I now drive until I owned one and started looking for it in parking lots. Then it seemed every fourth car was similar to mine. Dragonflies eat midges, black flies and mosquitoes among other things and in a year like this one that has had a lot of rain (at least in my area of the world) the creatures that prey upon the creatures that prey upon me are always a most welcome and joyous sight. There are those who believe that Dragonfly can be interpreted as illusion, and as a metaphorical reminder of a time when magic was still something we believed in. Others see it as flighty and carefree.

Dragon flies swarm due to abundant supply of food in the area. They also swarm to mate. This is less likely because males are more aggressive around other males during mating.

Because dragonflies are unique in that they can see infrared light and some people radiate more infrared waves than others, (possible due to emotions, cell phones, electromagnetic hypersensitivity syndrom EHS)

If you are noticing more dragonflies than normal then that means there has been more rainfall than normal. This is because they are always around standing water.
