∙ 12y agoFireworks were invented in China for New Year celebrations. They were exploded at the commencement of the new year to scare away evil spirits. It is said that a cook acidently spilled a mixture of black powder and sulfur salts in a cooking fire and it created blue flames. When the mixture was lit in a bamboo shoot it exploded.
