Yes. Just like Muslims, Hindus have to wash too! They wash in a place either inside or outside (depending on climate) called a Wudu. They have to wash in a paticular order. They wash to show respect before they worship (Puja).

Do people wash their feet before entering a 'mandir'?

Although it is good practice to wash feet before entering mandir, many do not abide by it, including myself. However, it is imperative that people leave their footwear outside before entering the mandir. They are given the option to wash hands and feet if they choose, but as said many don't. Also, many usually bathe before they go to a mandir, so they might feel they are clean.

What do Hindus do inside the Mandir?

At a Hindu temple(or mandir) we first wash our hands and feet as to cleanse ourselves and then that we take off our footwear outside the temple..and then only do we enter the temple...we ring the bell so that our prayers may be heard and then fold our hand in front of the deity and pray...our prayers and worship methods are god-specific like we offer milk(pour it on the deity) to Lord Shiva, offer Oil(pour it on the deity) to Lord Shani, laddus (a type of sweet in the shape of a small ping pong ball) to Lord Ganesha.....After that the pundit (godman) puts tikka(a paste of herbs like sandalwood) on our forehead and gives us prasad (some eatables which are blessings of the lord)............You need not give offerings to the lord as it is no compulsion u can just go fold your hands pray in front of the lord receive prasad from the pundit and leave with a peaceful soul.

What are the special rules in a mandir?

Before entering a mandir you should have had a bath/shower. At the mandir there is a specific room in which you keep your shoes on shelves. Depends on the particular temple. Most of the time there are no rules other than that you must remove your shoes before entering. Some do not allow any leather article in the temple, some would want you to enter in traditional dresses, some would want you to bathe before you enter the temple, some would not allow a non-hindu to enter the temple. So check at the gate.
