What element has similar properties like Zn?

Elements in the same group as zinc would be expected to have similar properties.

What do elements in a group have?

Elements in a group have very similar properties and characteristics. Every element in a group has the same amount of electrons in their outer shell. For Example, all elements in Group 2 - Alkaline Earth Metals have 2 electrons in their outer shell. Elements in the same group also have very similar characteristics such as what they react with etc. For Example:Group 2 - Alkali Metals - All react vigourously in Water.Group 18(0) - Inert Gases - All are highly unreactive.

How can you use your periodic table to determine which elements have similar chemical properties?

One can show that elements that have different appearances have similar chemical properties by showing their placement on the periodic table. The table is arranged by chemical families that have similar characteristics.

What does elements in a group on the periodic table have in common?

number of valence electrons

How are the Zero properties of addition and multiplication alike?

They are not! In addition, 0 is the identity with the following properties: x + 0 = x = 0 + x x + (-x) = 0 = (-x) + x The identity for multiplication is not 0 and so it does not have these properties.

What elements have similar characteristics in a periodic table?

Elements are put into groups on The Periodic Table and are similar to other element in that group for example: Group 1 - Alkali Metals - Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, Fr - All explosive in water. Group 2 - Alkaline Earth Metals - Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, (Ra) - All silvery white metal. Group 0 - Inert Gases - He, Ne, Ar, Kr, Xe, (Rn) - All highly unreactive. Elements are also similar to their own group in their electron configuration. Similarly for periods, every element in that period has the same amount of electron shells. For example, in Period 2 every element has two electron shells.
