they do it because now they think that they can go off on their own and do what they wanna do.....but you must know that your mother was with you every step off thw way in life, everytime you needed her then she was their for you! now be the daughter they raised and stick with her all the way..consider thinking about it.If it werent for her...you probablt would have been nothing.

^^^^^The above statement was likely written by a mother who is suffering much pain from losing her daughter. Clearly, she is one sided in her viewpoint and probably has an undiagnosed mental illness. Whoever truly thinks that an adult female would "have been nothing" without her mother is not mentally cohesive. Did it occur to them as they were writing the above paragraph that many mothers are abusive to their daughters??? I was mentally and physically abused as a child by my mother. A few months ago, my mother hurt my infant son and that was it. I disowned her. My job is to protect my children. My mother did not protect me, teach me love or values, or help me understand how to be a woman.

AnswerUsually it has to do with something that happened to them in the past that the mother did to them or didnt protect them from. Sometimes, there personalities clash as the girl grows up, mothers become jealous of their daughters for the liberties that the younger generation has. Resentment of some sort is in there, too. One thing does hold true, just because they are family doesnt mean you have to like them.

There are different reasons for that:

1. Refusal to follow in her footsteps

2. Disapproval of a marriage

3. Pregnancy without marriage

4. Disapproval of a job or career

5. SEVERE generation gap problems
