For a number of reasons: they are not tiny, it is easier to see what organs they have (many are like humans have), they are not expensive. Pictures can sometimes be difficult as they are not very accurate.
You may not like the idea of using worms or frogs for science labs but they can be a way that you can see if you like science.
People are getting away from using cadavers in medical schools and going with graphic tables. But these are very expensive.
Frogs are relatively cheap, large enough to see the organs without magnification and are a traditional animal used for dissection. Dissecting frogs is a very useful way for Biology students to observe and understand the physical and physiologic interconnection between the various organs and tissues.
Because we have similer anatomies. Butit's just stupid. They could show kids today videos of a dissection, ordo a virtual dissection. There arejust too many kids these days to supply all these poor animals to. Too many people, too little frogs.
Frogs are easy to obtain, easy to dissect, and are more similar to humans, than say worms, another choice. I still think its sad, though.
They are cheap and readily available, and their organs are relatively easy to observe (in comparison to, for example, those of a cockroach).
Frog dissection is commonly considered important because it teaches participating students about the simplified human form of the internal body cavities.
Tools needed for frog dissection:
Cloroform
Anura frogs
I don't no
after recently dissecting a frog, i foud its kidneys are a light red
tree frogs are dark green
It has been said that most frogs do not like to eat ants of any kind. Frogs that are known to eat ants (or fire ants) are cane toads or bull frogs.
spring Peepers
frogs have small earholes to either side of their eyes and up.
a pin used to dissect stuff A table that is used to dissect a animal or any other kind of animal.
Yes
Dissecting animals for study.
A dissecting pan is accuratly used for dissecting something like a frog or dead organisms.
Unless you are dissecting a live frog, they don't bleed. They're DEAD.

The dissecting pan is used to put dead organisims that you are going to dissect so you won't make a mess while you are dissecting the animal.
Dissecting scissors are scissors that are used to cut tissue during the process of dissecting (or cutting open) an animal.
Dissecting pins are used to hold down the tissue of an organism to the soft surface of the tray.

To hold down the organism being dissected on the dissecting tray.
dissection pins are little needles used to pin (in the case of a frog for example) the frogs hands and feet to the dissection tray. in some cases, dissection pins aren't needed, and you can simply hold the forg down yourself when needed.
