Some people are uncomfortable because they know true Christians no longer do prophesying. This was done away with, as pointed out in the Scriptures.
1 Corinthians 13: " Love never fails. But if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away with; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away with..."
Acts 8:18 reveals that the gifts of the spirit were received “through the laying on of the hands of the apostles.” This shows that with the last apostle's death, the passing on of the gifts of the spirit would stop—including prophesying. When those who had received these gifts from the apostles also passed off the earthly scene, the miraculous gift would cease.
This being said, people who claim to prophesy, in the name of God, are not true Christians. What they are doing does not come from God.
We do well to ask ourselves: Why do they still claim to do this and who could be behind it all?
The Bile tells us at 2 Corinthians 11:14 "...Satan keeps disguising himself as an angel of light." Yes, Satan can influence people into believing something is from God, when it isn't.
