I think people wear bright colors because they are happy! Think about it---you wear black when your depressed and therefore avoid that bright yellow hoodie in the back of the closet. I think it has something to do with our subconscious mind ... Every color means something ---or stands for something --- happiness, joy, peace, aggression, passion... the list goes on and on. I really think that the colors you choose to wear reflect your inner self but that's my own theory...
