Chlorophylls absorb light energy at different wavelengths. They absorb light maximally at blue-violet (400-500 nm) and red (600-700 nm) wavelenghts. Chlorophylls absorb light minimally at green (500-570 nm) wavelengths. Therefore, the green component of light will be maximally reflected when it interacts with chloroplasts.
