The muscous membrane in the nose is very thin, and what's more, it's highly infused -- there are lots of blood vessels there. So injuries -- scratches, abrasions, etc. that would only bruise another part of the body will break the skin in the nose. Even just rubbing the nose can sometimes make it bleed. Chronic, frequent nosebleeds are more common in younger patients. Two other causes of frequent nosebleeds are exposure to dust or powders that dry the membrane and make it more fragile and -- in some cases -- a highly elevated blood pressure can cause nosebleeds. it is when the blood comes out of the nose or when some one is hurt badly.

Nose bleeds can either be through picking your nose, or through high blood pressure etc. I suggest you see your doctor as you could have a condition called hypertension, which can be dangerous in pregnancy. If you get headaches and dizziness you should consult a doctor sooner rather than later.

The increased blood volume may cause the small and sensitive vessels in your nose to break easily during pregnancy.
