It's untrue that all cats don't like water. If I don't close the bathroom door my cat will get in and have a shower with either my husband or myself! If I put in an inch of water in the bath tub during the hot summer, she'll get in it and prance up and down although not getting totally wet like a dog would. She doesn't mind the rain and often has come fishing with us on our boat. Cats can swim! I wouldn't advise it though. Cats maintain their own fur by grooming a great deal so it's not necessary to bath a cat. Most cats do not like water because there is a nerve that is triggered when they are in water.Sometimes causing them to pant. They pant because they are either to hot or are very very frightened.
It is just because they don't like there fur getting wet
If a dog is exposed to water in a positive fun way from a young age, they will be fine with it. Some breeds of dogs are actually known for their love of the water. If an animal has had bad experiences with water, or is only exposed to it for an occasional bath, they probably aren't going to be very fond of it. If a dog is older and hasn't had much exposure, they may actually be afraid of it. I had a border collie growing up and it would go boating with us. When we stopped near the beach, he would jump off the boat and swim. We would throw a tennis ball and he would swim off to get it and bring it back to the boat. He loved it. I have two Labradors now. One came from an abusive home. I'm not sure what all happened to him before we got him, but he would absolutely shiver and hide when I would turn on the hose to water the plants. He will tolerate water because we really worked with him on it, but he still doesn't like it. The other lab we have had since he was very young and he loves it. We had to get him his own wading pool so he would stay out of ours. He'll jump in a pond, river, or wherever else we let him go. So really, it is like people. Their likes and dislikes just depend on their experiences and their comfort zones.
Many dogs have a natural fear of water, although some breeds take to it right away. Talk calmly to your dog while showing it that it has nothing to fear from the water. Eventually you may be able to condition your dog to enjoy going into water.
Well does your dog go into the bath with you [yes/no] well that's why because they have no choice but to see you in the bath show the dog you LOVE water and they will love it as much as you do that's exactly what i would do !
hounds, labs, retrievers, It all depends on the dog. I have a Dachshunds who loves to get in water but can't swim (super tiny legs).
well a dog is a mamal like me and you so if we dont have any aqitment how would we survive its the same with the dog it need aquitment and skill if no skill it could die
they get cold
some person: Dogs, water, sometimes poeple, and etc. another person: cats don't hate one thing in particular, but dogs and being covered in water are common ones
Not all dog's hate water. I have dog's who love water.
Some dogs Hate water because they are not very used to that object or they are not a breed that likes water. On the other hand, some black labs LOVE water because it's a subject they like! i only know how to get them to like water in a puddle by holding a treat in the middle and letting them get the treat as a reward for going into water.
i am sure some dogs do but that is a strange hatred!
yes they do for some reason
Some people love them as much as ice cream and desserts but some people hate them as much broccoli.
Wrong. Jews don't hate dogs.
No. Dogs do not feel the emotion of hate like humans do.
They are not water dogs but yes they are capable of swimming though they HATE it. Mine left some serious marks on me hahaha i would not suggest putting them in the water.
some times dogs got hurt or attacked by a squirrel when they were a puppy and ever since they get pist at them
Dogs hate cats because cats are stupid.
Not all of them. Some do, some don't.
