Because it's just another technical gizmo that costs money, uses energy, and has to
be cleaned and maintained. They'll do without it as long as possible, until public opinion
or government regulation force them to add it. Then they'll make sure that all of their
advertising tells you how green and socially conscious they are, while they calculate
what it cost them to add it, and hike the price of their product double that.

they are highly expensive, they have to be cleaned and maintained, they might seem appealing but the filteration plates need to be replaced often and they are not cheap.

What are the four names of applications that use electrostatic principles?

Electrostatic paint sprayer, used for the coat of paint on a car, plane, etc. Photocopier. Electrostatic precipitator, used to clean polluted air. Sorry, I only know three.

How does a electrostatic precipitator use static electricity?

Inside an electrostatic precipitator some of the electrodes are made to be positively charged and some of them are made to be negatively charged. Usually the voltage between the electrodes is very high. When smoke or other exhaust gases are sent through the precipitator particles in the gas with negative charges tend to go to the positively charged electrodes and positively charged particles go to the negatively charged electrodes. When the particles reach the electrodes many are neutralised and fall to the bottom of the precipitator where they may be collected periodically. Some cling to the electrodes which means that precipitators must be cleaned periodically too.

What is the uses of electrostatic force?

i know you can use an electrostatic force to paint cars by charging the particals of paint you can also use it to clean swimming pools learnt this in science :)

Why do power stations use electrostatic precipitators?

Power stations found electric gas cleaning in electrostatic presipitators an efficient way to recover valuable products carried out of the stacks from the operations of the furnace.

Can you use the word electrostatic attraction in a sentence?

"The inexpensive tabletop air cleaners have a wire grid inside that supposedly captures and holds dust by electrostatic attraction, but most do not work very well."

Where to use bag filter and where to use electrostatic precipitator?

Klean Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) can be use in all spheres which has problem in smoke. Klean ESP has two basal types. One is Commercial ESP, mainly used in commercial kitchen cooking fume's purification. The other type is Industrial ESP, used in purifying smoke or recycling wasted DOP oil in PVC production lines, such as PVC leather, PVC gloves and PVC wall paper, etc. Also stenters of textile dyeing and finishing can use our Industrial ESP to purify the smoke.

Why is DC voltage used in an electrostatic precipitator?

We use DC voltages in an electrostatic precipitator (ESP) because it is necessary to induce a charge on the particulates, and then attract them to a plate by the use of an opposite charge. An AC source would be changing constantly. That would leave our particulates picking up "different charges" at different times as they pass the plates. Further, these particulates wouldn't be attracted to the plates because the plates would be changing polarity as well. ESP's use a DC source to apply a charge of a given polarity to the particulates in the air stream, and use a plate of the opposite charge to attract and "hold" the particulates. AC sources can't do that.

What does Electrostatic separation mean?

Electrostatic separation - is the use of static electricity to separate one substance from another.

Where can you rent an electrostatic paint sprayer?

You can't. Electrostatic sprayers require training to use and are only used commercially.

How many year ago use first electrostatic plotter use?

Electrostatic PlotterDuring 1980s electrostatic plotters were introduced into the market. Those were actually large format electrostatic printers which work similar to the ordinary printers. Although they didn't use any pens, they were also referred to as plotters. Later in 1991, HPintroduced the inkjet plotter (HP Designjet), which eventually replaced electrostatic plotters. Since then, HP has been dominating the plotting industry with its DesignJet series.3

Can you use electrostatic paint over a painted metal surface?

No. The electrostatic process requires a electrical circuit to be made which will not happen on a painted surface.

Is liquid ammonia used as a coolent in ice cream factories?

We use it as a coolant. So it can use in the ice-cream factories.
