Briggs & Stratton Ignition Coils have NO documented measurement for the primary windings, however readings of between 0.3 and 0.7 ohms are common. The secondary windings should measure between 2K and 4K (including the resistance of the spark lead)
Most single cylinder failures on B&S twins are due to electrical failures. Check ignition diodes, coils, and key switch first.

They are under the coils, on the top of the engine. They are under the coils, on the top of the engine.
Check the ignition coil. At cold coils generally operate properly, when the coil heats a failing unit will start to break down and fail causing misfiring and poor engine operation. Second check for a failing ignition controller in the distributor.

a Mazda millenia with a miller cycl engine 2.3 engine has 6 igition coils

It depends upon cylinder in car. 3 ignition coils - 3 cylinder engine. 4 ignition coils- 4 cylinder engine.

On a 2005 Lincoln LS : Both size of engines have the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system The 3.0 liter V6 engine has ( 6 coils ) The 3.9 liter V8 engine has ( 8 coils )
on top back of engine,to be exact there are 3 coils! the coils have the plug wires on them.
