I am assuming you mean "suck" blood. The vampire, in mythology, had a craving for it. In todays modern society those claiming to be or exhibiting vampire like behaviors drink it (it is widely believed and accepted) because of an unusual deficiency in the blood. Many are anemic, or something similar, and find themselves craving rare meat at the best of times and blood at others. If they do not, they begin experiencing feelings of weakness or lethargy, followed by a period of increased sensitivity to light. Once they're "fed", however, these symptoms usually disappear and the person resumes life as normal.
