Stomach flip, or gastric torsion, happens when a dog eats a large meal and then runs and plays, or otherwise does something vigorous right afterwards. This causes severe stomach pain and the dog's stomach will usually appear bloated or distended. This is a medical emergency and oftentimes proves fatal. With quick response and emergency surgery to flip the stomach back into proper position, survival is a possibility.
