We "love" love because that's what we feel, but we try to get everything that's going to ruin that for us out of the way so that we can stay "in love".
It is all too easy to ignore those things that get in the way of happiness while in pursuit of what we think is love. In fact, we often love the things that are bad for us, and realise too late that this is the case.
