adrenalin is produced in the adrenal gland. the outer layer manufactures steroidal hormones that regulate metabolism and maintain fluid balance. the inner layer (medulla) contains blood vessels and nerve fibres which link to the sympathetic nervous system and it produces adrenalin the hormone involved in the flight or fight status.
