Why do you need to study theology?

Theology is the study of the existence of a supernatural power that is GOD.

It is not necessary to study theology but it is good to do so as the fear of GOD keeps us in self control. The fear of GOD keeps us in our limits, to follow moral values, dicepline etc. and atlast you will become a well reputed person.

If you think that there is no GOD then you wont fear because there is no one to punish and you know the whole world becomes a graveyard within minutes.

So it is good to study theology to be good to do good and become good.

Another ViewThe word "theology" comes from two Greek words: theos which means God, and logos which means word. Thus, in the simplest sense, "theology" is the study of God's word.

God has given us His word (The Bible) to know Him better. In it He has provided instruction, not to condemn us, but to protect us in this broken world. So, in the simplest sense, we need to study theology so we can do life right and be safe.

The study of God's word also leads us to the Word made flesh (John 1:10), which was Jesus. Only in relationship with Him can theology bear any fruit worth talking about.

Theology is the study of religion. A religion is to decide the physical as well as mental actions of a person. A religion is often combined by the existence of God(there are also religions which don't propose God).

It is not always preferred to study about theology. This would depend on the personal belief on supernatural powers.

-If a person ever feels that the beautiful and systematic world around us has a power which controls it or the whole world is subject to some laws of a superior power, it is preferred that the person shall study about theology.

-If a person feels that the life in earth, for humans has to be bound by some laws just as for other creatures, it is then again preferred to study about theology.

-Moreover, the religion Islam has the most preferable laws for humanity and betterment of human lives of all times.So, i prefer you must study about Islam at first. And while you study of any religion, i prefer you must first of all study on the 'guide book' of the religion(in the case of Islam its Al-Qur'an). There will be for sure some kind of scriptures for each religions.

Theology is a study of religions, and their impact on humans, both as on individuals, and as on a whole. Above, scratched, is simply religious Propaganda. Theologists can be atheists, they can be religious people - it doesn't matter. If the very topic is interesting - you study it, thus, becoming a theologist.

Religion is not mere a subject.It is a way of life.It give's us purpose to live, sence of responsibilty and every thing we need in order to have our lives well lived. Life is far more than it seems. It is just a temporary stay in this temporary world till the day of judgment. God created us, and we must know how to live, for we have to reply to our Lord for how we spent our lives.
