the pyramids actually look nothing today than what they looked like when they were first built. they did look quite amazing with brilliant white limestone out on the outer layer. but during the years the desert winds slowly wore away at the rock at one point the medieval villages actually came and took almost all of the outer rock to build castles. the pyramids mainly survived because the are not actually hollow but instead are good looking on the outside but a jumble of solid rock split into many pieces and jumbled together. so the pyramid is actually very very stable. and contrary to common beliefs they were not built by aliens.

the survival of pyramidsi think that the bricks that the egyptians used were put perfectly in to the correct place so that the structure wouldn't move. also they werent made of mud-bricks like the homes, instead they were made of strong stones.
