Patients with Bell's Palsy sometimes wear an eye patch or cotton gauze taped over the eyelid that is paralyzed in order to keep that eyelid closed tightly. Keeping it closed tightly over long periods of time such as at night while sleeping is important because it keeps the cornea lubricated. Patients with BP cannot close the eyelid tightly even while asleep, so moisture escapes. Gauze taped over the eyelid keeps it pressed down.

Male bulls wear bells if they are castrated
They wear jingle bells.
JINGLE BELLS!!!!!
It's very possible. Bell's Palsy is caused by the same herpes virus that causes chicken pox and shingles. It lays dormant in your system and causes various ailments (like Bell's Palsy) during immuno-compromised conditions. It isn't serious aside from the fact that your eye might not shut all the way while sleeping which can cause the cornea to dry up. Your doctor can perform an eye fluorescence test to determine if there has been oxygen loss and then prescribe some antiviral meds (like acyclovir) and you can wear and eye-patch and apply some lubricating drops to the eye for a while until you begin to feel your sensations coming back.
gloves prevent the medication from being absorbed through the skin.
