In the book New Moon when Bella was hearing Edward's voice was it really him talking?

Yes and No. This story is about a lot of development for Bella not only does she lose the love of her life, as well as the character that she is. She's not someone who changes her mind about something once she decides on it. Also she had picked her future as well. She had already decided I am going to be a vampire. This is going to be my family. But sometimes when someone tells you, you can't have something as Edward has told her many times, she just wants to get to her goal at the beginning of the story. When Edward leaves he takes her plan for the future and everything she wanted.

She doesn't. She's hallucinating because she misses him so much and because he's always been there to help her from danger.

When Edward left Bella, he made her promise not to do something dangerous and reckless. And because she is doing those things with the motercycles and cliffjumping and stuff. She can hear his voice because she breaks her promise. she isn't hallucinating. At the end of the book she says something like: 'There is a third option, he loves me, that's why I can hear him' and also in a part of the book they say their relation cannot be broken by distance or something like that.
