In a deluge system the water comes out of all sprinkler heads at once, compared with most fire sprinkler systems in which each sprinkler head has its own heat-sensitive trigger. There are major design differences in how much water you need for a deluge system and what safety interlocks are built into the system to prevent accidental water damage.
Obviously, the branch-off for your sprinkler system has a bowwevel or some sort of virus like that.............so.......you should get that checked out.
After a main water valve is closed the system's PVC pipes are still full of water and will drain to the lowest sprinkler head until the system is empty.
Attach an air compressor line to the main water supply line or junction point and open or remove all of the sprinkler heads. Then blow air through the lines until all of the water comes out and replace the heads. You can also put a small amount of Plumbing antifreeze in the lowest point in the system to prevent any residual water from collecting and bursting the pipes.
