For exactly the reason that you call it a "a green object". You describe it that way

because most of the time, when it's being illuminated by light of all colors, the only

color that it does NOT absorb, and that remains to bounce off of the object and be

seen by your eye, is the green. When there is no green light striking the object, it

can't reflect any light to your eye, and it appears black.

What colour would a red object seem to look like if you only shined green light on it?

The object would be black, because red cannot reflect green light so no colour is reflected of the object.

What color will a red object look through a green filter?

It will look black, or green, depending on the hue of the red. A green filter blocks the red light but no red object is reflecting solely in the red wavelengths, and any non-red light will appear green through the filter.

What colour would a green object look in red light and why?

Well, the grapes, if in a black room, will absorb off any colours that are not its colour. So the answer would be black. The green grapes would turn black if a red light was shone upon them. ^ hope i have helped!

If object is white in sunlight what color will it be in green light?

If an object is white in sunlight it will be green in green light. A white object reflects all wavelengths (colors) of light that shine on it. If only green light shines on it, that color will be reflected and the object will look green.

What does green look like in yellow lights?

A green object is called "green" because that's the only color of light that it reflects to our eyes, while it absorbs any other light. If there's no green light shining on it, then there's nothing for it to reflect, and we would describe it as a "black" object under those conditions.

What colour would a green object look under a red light and why?

A green object would look blaack in a red light because coloured objects absorb all colours except the colour they are, so a green object absorbs 6 colours (red, orange, yellow, blue, indigo, violet) and reflects 1 (green). In this situation, there is no green light to reflect and it can't reflect other colours, so it looks black. :)
