a helium balloon pops as it goes higher because the different combination of pressure. you could take a balloon in an airplane because the cabin is pressurized. as it gets higher the amount of pressure changes so it pops the balloon.

How high do helium balloons fly before they pop?

Depends on the type of rubber and amount of helium in balloon

How do helium balloons work?

helium balloons get filled with a amount of air in which is called helium it is used to make balloons float around in air. helium is a inert, gaseous element!!!!!yea i kenisha am smartHelium is less dense than air, therefore a helium-filled balloon will float in air.Helium is lighter that air, so it effectively floats on air. As a helium balloon is submerged in air, it rises upwards (like an air filled bubble in water).

When did Balloon Pop happen?

Balloon Pop was created on 2008-09-04.

How high can a helium balloon go?

High enough, until it gets popped. So it can fly up forever. Unless, of course a bird flies into it, popping and sending it back to Earth. It will fly as high as it can until it runs out of air, or if it runs into a power line because when it runs into a power line, the current electricity will cause it to pop. There are also different reasons why the balloon will pop. The higher the balloon goes, the lower the atmospheric pressure will be, so the balloon will expand as if helium were being added. When it expands far enough, it will pop.

Why does a balloon float?

The gas helium is less dense than the nitrogen-oxygen mix of atmospheric air. So a balloon filled to the same pressure (or even higher) will have a lower density than the air around it, which will displace it (flow under it), forcing it upward. The balloon will rise until the combined weight of the helium and the balloon are the same average weight (density) as the surrounding air. Long before it reaches that altitude, a normal balloon will begin to expand and will usually pop (at an altitude of a few hundred to a few thousand feet).Helium molecules are lighter than most air molecules in the atmosphere (mostly nitrogen and oxygen) therefore they are prone to rise while heavier molecules move downward.

Why does helium balloons pop in the hot sun and what pressure is acting on it?

When heat is exposed to the helium balloon it becomes to be even less dense and the molecules begin to expand and eventually the balloon will pop.

Why does a balloon pop as it goes up to the sky?

the pressure has increased

Could you use helium to float an item into space?

No, air pressure increases as the balloon goes up, so the balloon will pop and fall to the ground. You can get high up in the atmosphere (but you need a LOT of helium and a balloon that can get VERY big) you will not reach "outer" space beyond the Earth's atmosphere.

What does a weasel and corn plus a balloon have in common?

They all pop. Pop goes the weasel, pop corn, and pop a balloon

How does temperature affect helium?

temperature affects helium for example, if you put a balloon in a hot car it will pop

How high do helium balloons fly before they pop?

If air is denser why does helium pop faster?

Because helium is less denser than air a helium balloon can rise; it is very simple !

How do you beat level 9?

Free the balloon at the bottom and as the red balloon goes up pop the tnt balloon as it passes it and pop the last tnt balloon.

What will a helium filled balloon do in space?

the ballon would explode when it is in space, because the is almost nothing in space. so the helium atoms would spread and the balloon would pop.

How do you beat ballooner level 10?

Free the balloon at the bottom and as the red balloon goes up pop the tnt balloon as it passes it and pop the last tnt balloon.

How can you determine if a balloon is filled with helium gas or hydrogen gas?

Fill two balloons. One with hydrogen gas and the other with helium gas. Allow them to float on a piece of string. Taking a lighted/burning taper/splinter. , and burst the two balloons with the burning splinter. The helium filled balloon will just 'pop' and fall to the ground. The hydrogen filled balloon will 'pop with a flash of flame' So helium ; NO Flame Hydrogen ; A FLASH of FLAME.

Will helium balloon pop on airplane?

On modern airplanes no, because the cabin is pressurised to the same atmospheric pressure as on the ground. If the balloon was on the outside of the plane, and the atmospheric pressure at that altitude were low enough, then yes, the balloon would pop.
