Newborn babies generally have swollen genitals when they are born due to the trauma they go through when you are giving birth. And spending nine months in a moist wet environment will make things swollen as like our fingers do when we spend too long in the bath. If the swelling doesn't go down please contact your doctor.

∙ 14y agoA newborn baby girl often will have a swollen labia minora and/or majora, because in the womb she was receiving female hormones from her mother through the placenta. It is perfectly normal and is not an indication that she may be a boy. The swelling should be gone in two to four weeks.
