Why do scented candles spread smell quickly through a room while it is burning but not when it's unlit?

When a scented candle is burning, the heat from the flame vaporizes the scented wax and allows the fragrance to disperse into the air more quickly. When the candle is unlit, the scent molecules remain trapped in the solid wax and are not released into the air. Additionally, the heat generated by the flame helps to circulate the fragrance throughout the room.

Can compounds be broken down into elements by physical means?

No, compounds cannot be broken down into elements by physical means because compounds are composed of atoms that are chemically bonded together. Physical means can only change the physical state of matter, such as melting or evaporating a compound, but it does not break the chemical bonds between the atoms.

Can smelling unlit weed make you high?

No, smelling unlit weed does not make you high. THC, the chemical compound responsible for the psychoactive effects of marijuana, needs to be heated and inhaled for it to have an intoxicating effect. Simply smelling unlit weed will not result in a high.

Should a candle wick be lit or stay new?

Lit, You should actual use your candles. It can be very nice to sit and watch a movie with just the light from the TV and candles. Plus the smell, ooooo so nice. If you are not a candle user or your referring to ones on a wall that wouldn't be safe to light then it doesn't matter. If you watch those remodel shows so times they don't burn the wick and sometimes they show them burning. So you can go either way. Me, I figure why spend the money if your not going to use them. Plus they collect dust and you have to dust them if you don't use them. Also i like replacing them after i have used them up cause i can give the room a fresh color sceam change. See i get them all the same color, different shades but same color. Then when they need to be replaced I do the same thing only with a new color. It's kind of like a mini remodel job only cheaper. keeps the look fresh.

I can tell you why. If you shine a torch on the top of the unlit candle it will begin to glow and change. I guess it may be to do with light sensitive elements in oils.

What are the chemical properties of a unlit candle?

Oh, dude, a candle that's not lit is like a party pooper at a birthday bash. It's just a waxy cylinder chilling on a shelf, waiting for its moment to shine. Chemically speaking, it's made of stuff like paraffin wax and stearic acid, but for now, it's just hanging out, being all solid and unexciting.

Would an unlit wax candle melt on a 40 degrees celsius day?

No, an unlit wax candle would not melt on a 40 degrees Celsius day unless it is directly exposed to a heat source like sunlight or a flame. Wax candles need a higher temperature (over 60 degrees Celsius) to start melting.
