The salt leaches the fluids out of the slug, due to osmosis. The slug then dies of dehydration.
i don't think it would live To expand upon that, it would certainly die. A slug is adapted to life outdoors.
I know it works for snails....... put a little beer in the bottom of a container and place in your garden, depending on what typr of container, arrange it so the snail/slug can get in. They will crawl in and then drown in the beer. Doesn't matter what sort of beer
Put slug repellent on your plants after planting them.
put the food ( mostly any fruit, vegtable, and dandelions) in the slug's cage and the slug will approach it and eat it.
If you put salt on a frog or any other kind of water dwelling creature....... IT WILL SHRIVEL UP AND DIE! If you give a little time of course.......

say there was a pondweed in a beaker with tonnes of light and a sea slug was put in with it they will both survive due to photosynthesis. if a pondweed was in a beaker and had no light with a sea slug the sea slug will die because the plant can't photosynthesis and will respire
A fish will most likely die if you put a cleaning agent in its fish bowl without removing the fish. You should remove your fish with a net and place it in another safe container until fish bowl is clean.
