Noble gases have filled shells, which is the most stable configuration for an atom. Removing an electron from a noble gas would increase the energy more than if you removed an electron from, for example, nitrogen.

Noble gases have completely filled orbitals. They generally have 8 valence electrons (helium has only 2) and have stable electronic configuration. Hence the electrons are not lost and noble gases have very high ionization energy.

Ionization energy is the energy required to remove an electron, while electron affinity is the energy being released when an electron is added. Normally, these values are of the same magnitude with opposite signs, but because inert gases or, noble gases, have full valence shells, no electrons will be accepted into the already stable atom.

Since noble gases have obtate electronic configuration it does not have any unshared or lone pair of electrons.all the orbitals of the noble gas is much attracted towards the nucleus so its very difficult to remove the electron from outer most orbital and so the ionisation energy is high
