It comes in an effervescent form as well as tablet form. Some people are unable to take effervescent Berocca tablets. It contains artificial sweeteners. The effervescent tablets contain 364 mg d-mannitol, 20mg acesulfame potassium and 25mg Aspartame. Film-coated Berocca tablets contain 25mg d-mannitol, 13.44mg polydextrose and 94mg lactose.

Airline crew members are particularly fond of Berocca as it is believed to provide a sudden boost of energy, helping crew members to endure the challenges of travelling multiple time-zones, jet lagged, and occasional (or frequent) needs to sober up after a night of partying.

Its effervescence comes from a bicarbonate base.
