Actually coffee does not stay hotter in a ceramic cup vs a Styrofoam cup, but would stay hotter in a ceramic cup vs a paper cup.
A good insulator for a water based liquid will reduce conduction and convection. Styrofoam works well keeping coffee warm because it has a small mass and a large volume. The small mass helps eliminate conduction. The large volume is because the sintering process traps tiny pockets of air that help eliminate convection. With those two together you get hot coffee longer.
It's primarily a matter of personal preference, and secondly metal transfers heat faster so unless it is a thermos the metal cup will make coffee cold faster.
Also in this age where green is on our minds people tend to view metal things a unfeeling and cold (excuse the pun)
It conducts the heat into the air, so it cools down.
because metal attracts heat better
Ceramic is an excellent insulator. This is why coffee cups are made of ceramic. They keep your coffee hot for a long time. Metal cups, in contrast, conduct heat quite rapidly.
Ceramic cookware has been known to crack easily caused by overheating. Ceramic cookware doesnt last as long as some think. Overheating has been caused by grease or oil getting to hot in the oven.
there is no "magic" ingredient to add. what will help tho, is putting your soup in something thicker, like a thick ceramic bowl, or a coffee mug. this will help retain the heat
any with a heated base will keep it warm as long as you leave it on.
Good ways to store coffee long term is to keep the coffee in an air tight container away from heat. You can also store coffee in vacuum sealed bags in the freezer.
It depends on the mug. If you use a heat retentive coffee mug, it will keep your coffee hot to the last sip (25 to 30 minutes); It requires one minute preheating in a microwave oven.
forever, just as long as it doesnt look like you! :D
It's a good idea to use a ceramic knife sharpener to keep your knives in good order. The ceramic material makes it a great choice as it's a very strong material and it will therefore last a long time before needing to be replaced.
ALL ARE SAFE AS LONG AS YOU KEEP THEM OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN
Ceramic bakeware is very easy to clean and looks good for a long time - really, the only downside is making sure it doesn't break. Other bakeware won't if it's dropped on the floor.
Tell that person they need a "CHECK UP FROM THE NECK UP", because that is not true what so ever! If that was the case then how would all of these new cold coffee drinks sold everywhere now, keep their caffiene content after being stored for days or longer. So don't worry, the coffee in your thermos will keep you "POP LOCKIN" all day long.
