Need to know the year of engine to answer correctly.
Rotor Under Cap Spins: Clockwise
do you mean what direction the rotor button in the distributor spins, if so it spins clockwise.
under the rotor on the inside of the distributor cap
There were several different distributors used over the years. If a distributor fits a 305, it also fits a 350. The cap and rotor from an old style points distributor does not fit the newer HEI, or vice versa.
It is mounted inside of the distributor under the rotor button.
I DON'T KNOW!
Clockwise. The 72 Chevy 350 engine did not come stock with a HEI unit. No matter, the rotor still spins clockwise.
Turn it to the opposite direction that the rotor rotates.
Align the rotor with the number one position on the distributor cap, then with the engine at TDC insert the distributor. There may be a mark on the outside of the distributor to help.
It is the only electronic device that is in the distributor. remove the cap and rotor and you will see it.
inside the distributor underneath the rotor cap. You must line up rotor base to the proper location to remove cam sensor.
Yes the rotor should be pointing to the #1 cylinder when you are installing the distributor.
