Heat itself is a form of energy. This gives the air molecules more kinetic energy. Thus, with more kinetic energy, the air molecules move a lot more. Adversely, in cold air, there is less energy, thus the air molecules move less slowly. This is what gives hot air more volume than cold air.

Hot air has more energy, so the particles are moving faster and bouncing off each other harder than in cold air. This bouncing off each other forces them against the walls of a container, creating higher pressure.

Hot air is not heavier then cold air. hot air is lighter then cold air. and the reason it is lighter is that when you heat air the molecules that make it up move further apart and that means for it to make up the same weight you will need a greater volume. this is why hot air balloons go up the hot light air in the balloon starts to float on the the heavier colder air outside the balloon.

Because hot air is lighter than cold air, so it goes up.

hot air rises because when the cold air comes down the hot air goes up and when the hot air comes down the cold air goes up opposite ok do u get it now and if u don't too bad

Is hot air liter or heavier than cold air?

Hot air rises, so is lighter than cold air.

What kind of air is heavier than another type of air?

Gas is heavier than oxygen. Cold air is heavir than hot air

What are wind made of?

cold air is heavier than hot air so the cold air gos to the hot air where theirs less pressure

Warm air weighs more than cold air?

no cold air is heavier because it sinks and hot air rises

Is Warm air heavier or cold air?

cold air is heavier than the warm air warm air has low water so it is hot and low heavy but cold air has a lot of water so it cold and heavy

If cold air is heavier than warm air then why is it colder in the mountains?

You have forgotten one vital fact, cold air is heavier than hot air------At the same atmospheric pressure!!. That means that the cold air on Mt Everest is lighter than than the warm air 29000 ft below in the Ganges Delta.

Which is heavier hot air or cold?

Hot air. Because it always rises above cold

Is cold air thicker or thinner than warm air?

Hot air hasLess atmospheric pressure, in other words the air is thinner. ... Cold air is heavier than hot air *at the same pressure*

Why does cold gases and liquids sink?

Hot air is less dense than the surrounding air and therefore it rises. Cold air, on the other hand, is the opposite. It is more dense than surrounding air and sinks.

Why does got air rise and cold air sink?

Hot air is lighter while cold air is heavier. This results in warm or hot air rising and cool or cold air falls.

Why cold air is heavier than hot hair?

It is not heavier, it is "denser" that is because its molecules move around less and thus take up less space.

Why is warm air lighter than cold air?

Warm air is lighter than cold air because cold air is denser, by dense I mean the particles in cold air are more packed together than it is in warm air. Therefore cold air is heavier which is why warm/hot air always floats above cold air (same thing with hot/warm and cold water). That is why warm/hot air is lighter than cold air. That's the reason why a hot air balloon only goes up when there's something producing hot air (like fire for example), and the only reason it goes back down is if you put out the fire. Remember this only happens because Hot water/air is less dense than cold air which makes it lighter.
