Materials period block gamma rays, but Lead is favored because it seems to do it best. Lead has a high atomic number, and therefore a large nucleus. The nucleus is what blocks the ray. Lead is also fairly inexpensive, so it's preferred.

Gamma rays have?

Gamma rays are electromagnetic radiation. Gamma rays have very high penetration power. But they have low kinetic power and ionizing power.

Which is the most penetrating rays x-rays or gamma rays?

Gamma rays are the most penetration rays because of its shortest wave length...

What will stop gamma rays?

gamma rays can be stop by lead block

What stops gamma radiation?

Nothing actually stops radiation, but lead slows it from spreading around.

With ray is similar with gamma ray?

Gamma rays are electromagnetic radiation. Gamma rays have very high penetration power. But they have low kinetic power and ionizing power. Gamma rays are similar to x-rays in the sense that both are forms of electromagnetic radiations.

What do you know about the gammas wave?

Gamma ray is a form of high energy radiation. Gamma rays have very short wavelength. Gamma rays are high in frequency and have very high penetration power.

What is required to shield gamma rays?

A thick layer of lead is the bes shield for gamma rays

Which rays can not be stopped by thick sheets of lead?

gamma rays

Can gamma rays be stoped by something?

Lead.

What objects can stop gamma rays?

Gamma rays can be blocked by a thick amount of lead. Alpha -> goes through thin mica -> then stops at skin or paper. Beta -> Goes through thin mica - then goes through skin or paper -> gets stopped at lead. Gamma -> Goes through thin mica -> goes through skin or paper -> then can be slowed down by lead or can be stopped completely by a thick amount of lead. I may have Beta and alpha mixed up but please excuse me as im writing this out of my book (:
