Actually, they do burn. Although there are no chemical ingredients, if you use magic eraser in your skin, it DOES leave a burn...and a pretty harsh one at that.
Speaking from experience, while the burns on my forearm, chest & knuckles were healing, even WATER hurt them. I couldn't let clothing touch the burns, and its was not only uncomfortable to sleep, but it was painful.
