during the day the sun shines during the night the moon is out
Because the atmosphere on Mercury is very thin, allowing a lot of heat to be absorbed during the day. At night the atmosphere cannot hold the heat so it becomes extremely cold very quickly. Also, the lack of water and other liquids that don't change temperature easily leaves nothing to cool the rock exterior in the day or keep it warm at night.
One side of Mercury directly faces the full heat of the Sun. Mercury is very close to the Sun and has very little atmosphere to protect it. So, most of the Sun's energy reaches the surface of the planet and heats it up. The other side of Mercury faces away from the Sun and receives no heat energy from the Sun at all. Because Mercury has very little atmosphere there is nothing to hold the heat in and any residual heat energy quickly radiates out from the surface and away into space, causing the surface temperature to quickly plunge to very low levels.
Mercury's temperature is so hot during the day because the atmosphere in Mercury is very thin, allowing a lot of heat to take in during the day and so cold at night because the atmoshere at night cannot hold the heat so it becomes extremly cold quickly.

Thank you so much.....
I hope I have the right answer
Mercury is very close to the sun. One face is permanently facing the sun (a tidal effect - same as one face of the moon always faces the earth). This face is permanently extremely hot. The back face is relatively cold. There is permanent day on one side and permanent night on the other.
Mercury has such a large tempreture variation because it is so close to the Sun, and when it is not facing it, there is no immense heat source on that side, so it is very cold.

Mercury is close to the sun and therefor experiences very high daytime temperatures. The planet has no atmosphere to retain the heat so nighttime temperatures are very low.
It has a very slow rotation
Expansion of a fluid, usually mercury but alcohol (usually red colored) is used. Expansion of a metal (solid) in a bimetallic strip Change in electrical resistance - used in sensors Thermoelectric effect - ( thermocouples) Quartz crystal oscillator (Quartz crystal frequency varies slightly with temperature) Thermochromic liquid crystal - (in the strips that show different colors)
The temperature range is very great -- temperatures on the surface of Mercury range from -300 degrees Fahrenheit up to 800 degrees Fahrenheit. There is no substantial atmosphere there, so there is no pressure nor air at the surface.

The temperature of the Great Lakes in winter ranges from about 12 degrees to 61 degrees Fahrenheit. In the summer, the temperature ranges from 28 degrees to 82 degrees Fahrenheit.
With great difficulty. A kilometre is a measure of distance whereas a degree Celsius is a measure of change in temperature. There is no relationship between the two.
Not necessarily. It does, however, indicate that a reaction is taking place.
Sedimentary rocks change under great pressure and temperature condition to form metamorphic rocks
There is a great difference in temperature between black and white. Black clothing tends to absorb heat more than white.
This will happen on planets which have no atmosphere, or no significant atmosphere - especially Mercury, Mars, as well as planetoids or moons.
No, it does not.
Freddie Mercury did record a version of "The Great Pretender." (The best-known version is by The Platters.)
