I would need more info, but here are some ideas. I do not know the vehicle, however, if it has a catalytic converter, it may be suspect. It sounds like a situation that is happening after warm up, which a cat, would do.
My second though would be your EGR. Exhaust, Gas, Recirculation. It recirculates exhaust through the motor, to burn any unburned fuel. Since exhaust goes through this, it clogs, often.
Thirdly, I have had excperiences where the auto trans., is slipping after warm up. Check the fluid level, and service it. When they change the filter, look for an excessive amount of clutch material in the pan. Some, is normal. Smell the fluid. If it smells burned, investigate further, with professional help.
There are so many other things that, combined, would do the same. A tune up, carb rebuild, or injector cleaning, ect.
The 305 Chevy could not fire for several reasons. The crank sensor could be bad, the coil could have failed or there could be a loss of power to the ignition circuit.
why 1991 Chevy silverado misses out while under power
Check the catlytic converter for blockage
clogged cat
If the loss of power is sudden in only a few minutes, turn it off. If it starts back up and runs fine for a few minutes the loses power, it could be fuel starvation, check the fuel system for pressure, and change the fuel filter. If it starts up with the loss of power, and the engine has to cool down before it runs fine again it could be something electrical that is overheating and breaking down. Check the ignition coils.
If you mean for the block it's to minimize power loss to drive train.
Plugged air and or fuel filter.
It might be the catalytic converter has overheated and had the honeycomb inside melt together.
bad ignition. plugged air filter. main bearings are bad.
Bad head gasket? Cracked Head? CRacked block?
When the gasket between the engine block and crankcase is old ,there is a possibility some lube oil to leak and reduce the
