your oil pump could be on the way out also check the oil pick up it could be blocked due to lack of oil changes

If the oil pressure guage reads ok, then it is an electrical problem.
ECU has registered a fault. Get the codes read to find out what it is.
Your ECU has registered a fault code. You need to get them read by a codereader to find the fault.
You need to have the codes read by a codereader, then cleared by the reader after the fault is repaired.
Inside the fuse box under the bonnet.
Drivers side dash, near the door.
That is the check engine light.

If the oil light only comes on when the engine is hot and on idle look at your oil pressure gauge to see if the needle is going down to the low end of the scale if so give it a service and make sure you use 10w 40oil reccomended for frontera and you can put in slick50 or other engine oil additive this will increase your oil pressure and stop the light coming on
that normally means the chip in your key has to be programed or the chip has stop working so u might need a new chip
