Why does only Earth support life?
Because on other planets we know of there is no evidence of oxygen in the atmosphere or much liquid water on the surface on any of the other planets to support life. Also it is often too cold or too hot on other planets or they are too big or too small so no life forms as we know them could live there.
Because it has the basic elements to support life things like water and oxygen without those life here on earth wouldn't be life on earth. It's not... It's just the only one we've found that conclusively DOES support life. We've found several "Earth-like" planets that COULD support life, but are too far away to get a close enough look and find out if they actually DO.
The Earth is unique in our solar system because it is the only planet that has life on it. It is the only planet in a viable position to support life (other than bacteria), the only planet with water on it, the only planet with a good atmosphere to keep heat and cool in, and the only planet with the perfect combination of elements in the atmosphere to support life.
earth is the only planet IN THIS SOLAR SYSTEM that can support life. but when you think about it the universe is so big that there's such a big chance that there's life on a planet somewhere out there. but scientists have already found what looks like a planet that is as old as earth, the same size of earth, and it looks like it has water on it. but its about 20 million light…
