In the book piggy adjusts for only having one lens left of his glasses because he is use to it. He has had them like that for a while so you just get use to it. He also freaks out but he adjusts pretty well,
Piggy only has one eye due to a childhood accident where a bully hit him in the face with a rock. This injury not only physically impairs him but also serves as a symbol of his vulnerability and outsider status among the other boys on the island.
