Yes unfortunately he does, Mab though once capable of love suffered so much she no longer felt human emotions so she never connected with Merlin on such a level. And at the death of his aunt because Mab could not display emotion he decided to blame her for it all and saw her as a monster. However you may not when Ambrosia is dying Mab comes over as "concerned".
