A thick wire has its cross section area more than that of the thin one .Since the resistance of a material is inversely proportional to its resistance, resistance of thick wire is less compared to.[as cross section area increases the no electrons drifted increases].this applies only to OHMICdevices.

Less room for the electrons to move through. Every metal has a different ability to transmit electricity, but all of them have lower throughputs with lower gauge wire.

Thin wires have a what resistance to electron flow than do thicker wires?

Thin wires have a greater resistance rhan thick wires. Imagine a straw. The thinner the straw. the less liquid can get through. Wires work the same way.

An electric heater is stretched to increase its length by 25 percent what is the increase in resistance?

In this case, the resistance will increase in inverse proportion to the wires new diameter, and in direct proportion to the wires new length.

Do thin wires have a greater or lesser resistance to electron flow than do thicker wires?

Thinner wire has greater resistance than thicker wire, assuming the same amount of current.

Do thicker or thinner wires have more Resistance?

Over the same distance the larger diameter wire will have less resistance that the smaller diameter wire.

How does viscosity affect peripheral resistance?

If you increase the total peripheral resistance then the arterial blood pressure will increase.

What are 2 ways you could alter a wire to increase the resistance in an electric current?

#1). Thinner wire.Either replace a wire with one composed of thinner material, orstretch the existing wire slightly so that it becomes thinner.#2). Longer wire of the same thickness.

Why longer thinner wires produce more heating than short thick wires?

First of all, that's only true if the current through the thin wire is the same or greaterthan the current through the thick wire. The power dissipated from anything carrying current is(the current through it)2 x (its resistance)Making a wire thinner OR longer increases its resistance, so if the current remains thesame, then [ I2R ] must be greater.

Compared to thin wires electrical resistance in thick wires are?

The electrical resistance in thick wires is less than thin.

Why does a thinner wire have less resistance?

With a given material, the resistance is inversely proportional to its area of cross section and so the radius. That means wire becoming thinner the resistance increases not decreases as said in the question.

If two wires of the same material have the same thickness but different length the blank wire will have greater resistance?

The thinner the wire, the higher the resistance. The thicker the wire, the resistance decreases. Think of it this way. The thick wire has more room for electrons to jump around, but the thin wire has less room.

What property of wire increases when it is made thinner?
