The ear canal often gets blocked because the wax us hard so then it won't go. It will stay in the ear. Sometimes we cannot hear some sound because the wax is blocking the hearing of the ear. It might be dangerous because you might get little bit deaf.

How does wax in the ear effect us from hearing?

Ear wax is there to line the skin that is present in the ear leading up to the ear drum. The wax keeps the skin supple and prevents the skin drying and cracking. Obviously, if the wax builds up too much, it could effect the hearing. If so, the ears can be medically syringed and excess wax removed, restoring hearing.

Why cant you hear when you have lots of wax in your ears?

because all of the wax has built up in your ear so the wax is acting like a shield in your ear to stop you from hearing.

If water flow into a child's ears could he go deaf?

I have never heard of any cases that children go deaf from water. Children may experience a lack of hearing because the ear wax absorbes the water but nothing that serious. Simply to treat lack of hearing from ear wax you should try an ear wax removal system.

How do you get somthing out of your ear?

Erm..... whats in your ear...... don't use Ear Cleaners to get Ear Wax out because that pushes more Ear Wax into your ear that can cause ill hearing. Water--- tilt your head to the Left/Right depending where the water is and jump up and down kinda hard seeing as we dont know whats in your ear

How does smoking affect hearing?

The only known effect on hearing due to smoking is that smokers produce more ear wax than non-smokers produce. The ears, like the nasal passages, aid in the body's defenses. The ear must drain fluids through the estachian tube (one for each ear). In smokers, the eustachian tube (one or both) can become blocked or have difficulty draining, which backs fluid into the ear behind the ear drum. Wax begins to build in front of the ear drum in the middle ear. This wax can make the ear drum less moveable; movement of the eardrum helps conduct sound. In heavy smokers, the wax can create a blockage, thereby reducing the ability to hear until the wax is removed by a doctor. Some Ear/Nose/Throat (ENT) doctors recommend using a mix of a few drops of peroxide in water to irrigate the ear canal. This softens the wax and helps move it to the outside. Some doctors recommend using a netti pot to flush out the sinuses and nasal passages as well. It is important to never put anything into the ear. Even a q-tip can damage the sensitive ear drum membrane and cause permanent hearing loss.

What do you to if you wake up with muffled hearing?

See the doctor. It might just be ear wax you got in there. The doctors will take out the ear wax because the ear wax is blocking your ear drum so it plugged your ears. The doctor takes out your ear wax and your ear gets plugged but then later it opens and you can hear really well.
